Why a frog?
What does "STAY RUGGED" mean?
Honestly? It started as an inside family joke... and somehow the frog became the face of the brand. We then took "Rana" which means "frog" in Spanish to pull from our Puerto Rican heritage.
Are your products handmade?
Stay Rugged means showing up, pushing forward, taking care of yourself, and staying true to who you are- even when life gets messy.
Yes. Our products are handcrafted in small batches in Springfield, Georgia using carefully selected carrier oils, essential oils, fragrance oils, and other quality ingredients blended in-house.
Why small batch?
Rugged Rana Grooming started as a hobby and a father-and-son bonding project. Keeping things small batch allows us to focus on quality control, experiment with blends we genuinely enjoy making, and keep the process personal while balancing everyday life.

Do your products follow IFRA standards?
Yes - all fragrance and essential oil usage is kept within current International Fragrance Association safety guidelines and recommended usage rates.
Do you use essential oils or fragrance oils?
Depending on the scent, products may contain fragrance oils, essential oils, or a blend of both.
Are your products tested on animals?
No animal testing here - only consenting humans.
Are your products greasy?
Our blends are designed to absorb well while still conditioning the beard and skin underneath without feeling overly heavy.
Why does my beard butter feel grainy?
Natural butters can sometimes become grainy after temperature changes. The product is still safe and effective to use.
My butter melted during shipping - is it ruined?
Nope. Beard butter can soften or melt during warm weather or transit, but it is still safe to use.
How do I reset melted or grainy beard butter?
Remove the lid and place the jar in the microwave using 10-15 second intervals, stirring after each burst. This helps prevent hot spots and allows the butter to melt evenly.
Repeat until the butter is fully melted and smooth. Use caution when removing the container from the microwave, as it may become hot. Once melted, place the container in the freezer for about one hour to solidity. Remove from the freezer, allow it to return to room temperature, then replace the lid.
Why does my beard wash separate?
Some separation is normal due to the natural ingredients used in our formulas. We also included mixing balls in the bottle to help make remixing quick and easy. Simply shake well before each use.

How often should I use beard oil?
Most people use beard oil daily, especially after showering or washing their beard.
How do I use beard oil?
Place a few drops into your palm, rub hands together, and work evenly through the beard and into the skin underneath. Adjust amount based on beard length and thickness.
What's the difference between beard oil and beard butter?
Beard oil mainly conditions the beard and skin underneath, while beard butter provides deeper conditioning with a softer, more nourished feel.
How do I use beard butter?
Scoop a small amount, rub between your palms until melted, then work evenly through the beard. Beard butter can be used anytime, but many people prefer using it at night or for extra conditioning and softness.
How do I use beard wash?
Shake well before use. Apply to a wet beard, work into a lather, massage through the beard and skin underneath, allow it to sit briefly, then rinse thoroughly.
Why does my beard wash separate?

Can women use these products?

Why does a scent smell different on me than someone else?
Skin chemistry, environment, beard type, and even the weather can affect how a scent is perceived and how long it lasts.
Do you offer unscented products?
Yes! Our 404 line is our unscented option for people who want the benefits of the product without added fragrance.
