The Story Behind Rugged Rana
My name is David (Rana JR.). Rugged Rana started by me and my father both as a way for us to bond but also cope with our own mental health. I personally have struggles with self-harm and suicidal Ideation. Please if you are someone who struggles with mental health there are resources you can use and people you can talk to and in this community, we are a family who supports everyone. Music is my biggest passion in both my school band where I play the (Euphonium/Baritone) and in the choir (I sing Bass). This for sure has been a wild journey not only to get here but also to be accepted into the community, whether I have a beard or not I have been welcomed just like everyone else in the family. All in all, I'm very happy to be here in this world and as a part of the wonderful community. Thank you for reading.
My name is Reinaldo (Papa Rana). Rugged Rana was created with my son as a way to cope with our daily struggles with mental health. I began my beard journey after leaving the world of corrections where I battled with many obstacles that left me in a dark place. I discovered beard care products years later from a friend who worked alongside me in the prison system. I began making my own products for personal use and after a life altering experience with Rana Jr, we decided to share it with the world. I urge anyone struggling to reach out, the bearded community is a "Family" and I am happy to have found it. Thank you!
My name is Amanda. I help behind the scenes where needed and occasionally pop into the group to leave little hearts around as a reminder that somebody cares about you. <3 I may not be the face of the brand, but I genuinely care about the community around it. One of my favorite things about the beard community is how supportive and welcoming people can be, and I’m happy to be a small part of that here. I’m usually somewhere in the background helping out, cheering people on, and trying to leave things a little more positive than I found them.
